Q195 Carbon Steel Material Guide

Overview

Q195 Carbon Steel is a low-carbon structural steel grade specified under the Chinese standard GB/T 700. It is characterized by excellent formability, good weldability, low cost, and ease of fabrication.

Q195 is equivalent in performance to international grades such as SAE 1008, SAE 1010, SPCC, and EN DC01, making it one of the most commonly used carbon steels for sheet metal fabrication, cold forming, welded structures, hardware manufacturing, and general engineering applications.

Due to its low carbon content, Q195 offers superior ductility and forming performance but lower strength compared with Q235 and Q345 structural steels.
