Overview
Q215 Carbon Steel is a low-carbon structural steel grade specified under GB/T 700, offering a balance of good strength, excellent weldability, and superior formability. It is positioned between Q195 and Q235 in terms of mechanical performance and is widely used in structural fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing, welded assemblies, machinery components, and general engineering applications.
Q215 is available in two grades:
- Q215A
- Q215B
Among them, Q215B provides stricter control of sulfur and phosphorus content, resulting in improved weldability and mechanical reliability.
Compared with Q195, Q215 offers higher strength while maintaining excellent processing characteristics. Compared with Q235, it provides better ductility but lower structural strength.
